Frequently asked questions
What data does RunLog access?
RunLog reads workout data from Apple Health including heart rate, distance, routes, cadence, and other running metrics. RunLog writes a workout to Apple Health only when you ask it to by manually logging a workout or recording a run in the app, and after you grant permission. It does not modify or delete workouts recorded by another app or device, and it does not transmit your workout or user-authored data to external servers.
How are HR zones calculated?
RunLog uses a three-tier system: Personalized zones use the Karvonen method with your resting heart rate and observed max HR. Standard zones use the 220-age formula. You can also set custom BPM thresholds in Settings → Heart Rate Zones.
What's included in RunLog Pro?
Pro unlocks cross-workout analysis features: training load trends, custom HR zones, colored route maps, advanced best efforts, VO2 Max trends, and more. Single-workout analysis is always free.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings → Export My Data. To back up the RunLog-owned data that deletion can remove, export annotations and overrides, gear records, workout and shoe photos, and preferences. Your workout data itself lives in Apple Health and can be exported from the Health app.
Why is some data showing 'Loading...'?
RunLog computes detailed analytics in the background after import. This usually completes within a few minutes. If data stays stuck on loading, try pulling down to refresh or restarting the app.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. RunLog does not handle billing directly — all payments go through Apple.
How do I report a bug?
Go to Settings → Send Feedback. This generates a diagnostic report that helps us investigate issues. No personal workout data is included in the report.
